About eCMRN

David White host of ebay & Beyond: Basics to Business and owner of eCommerce Marketing Radio Network worked as a Paramedic for over 25 years when he found the internet world. He began selling on eBay in 1997 after a friend told him about the site. With inventory from a relatives antique shop, he listed his first item in May 1997. Soon he was hooked on ecommerce. In 1998 after learning HTML to add color and functionality to his eBay listings, he began using Auction Assistant auction listing software.

He began getting requests from other eBay sellers to teach them how to use this software and in April 1998 he quit his full time Paramedic job to sell and consult full time. His clients ranged from indvidual users to corporations wanting to get in on the eBay craze and he traveled around the US and Canada assisting hundreds of sellers ramp up their businesses.

In September 2000 Dave received a call from eBay and was asked to teach at eBay University. eBay had purchased the Auction Assistant software then known as eBay Sellers Assistant and wanted to include it in the eBay University curriculum. For the next 18 months Dave traveled across the country working with other eBay University instructors such as Marsha Collier author of the popular eBay For Dummies series of how to books and Jim “Uncle Griff” Griffith the Dean of eBay University instructing hundreds of eBay users each week.

In early 2002 Dave elected to continue selling on line and refocus on the consulting end of his business and left the eBay University team. Dave continued to learn about ecommerce attending several internet marketing workshops, networking with other internet marketing consultants and expanding his own ecommerce business across other venues such as his own website, Yahoo auctions, Google Base, learning about Amazon. During this time Dave continued consulting and presenting for other ecommerce software makers and working with the likes of Adam Ginsberg, Robert Allen and Mark Victor Hansen.

In late 2006 Dave began to think of other ways to bring his message of hard work and business strategies to ecommerce sellers while reducing his travel away from family and hit upon a weekly radio program. In February 2007 eBay & Beyond: Basics to Business was born and launched on terrestrail AM 1340 radio with live internet streaming from Jamestown, NY.

Wanting to expand his audience, Dave moved the program to Erie PA in September 2007 from the studios of Jet AM 1400 and continued live streaming via the internet from the ebay & Beyond: Basics to Business website.

In January 2008 Dave found that the bulk of his audience was listening online and that the costs associated with AM radio broadcasting simply were to high. So eBay & Beyond: Basics to Business moved to an internet live streaming radio program format. Dave set up a radio studio in his office and now the program is broadcast live streaming on the internet from the office. ebay & Beyond: Basics To Business has taken to the road over the past year broadcasting live from Channeladvisor’s Catalyst Conference, PESA/ECMTA’s Spring Summit in New Orleans and of course eBayLive 2007 in Boston and eBayLive 2008 in Chicago.
